2014 LAKES TROPHY
The annual Lakes Trophy between Central Coast and Lake Macquarie was held on Friday 26 September at Golden Hind Bowling Club. Club President Ann welcomed Central Coast President Pat, Lake Macquarie President Fay, committees and players from both districts to Golden Hind. District President Pat then welcomed all. Central Coast players were wearing our new Representative Shirt for the first time and they looked very smart.
After morning tea it was on to the green for the 28 players from each district to commence the 'battle', albeit friendly in atmosphere. The windy conditions were certainly challenging for the players.
Lake Macquarie got off to a good start but Central Coast fought back and the scores were very close throughout. After 21 ends the final result was:
LAKE MACQUARIE 136 shots CENTRAL COAST 130 shots
Well done to Lake Macquarie who retain the trophy for another 12 months. Congratulations to all players from both districts. Each district had 3 rink wins plus a draw.
Central Coast Pres. Pat presented the trophy to Lake Macquarie Pres. Fay. Golden Hind was thanked for their hospitality and all wished a safe trip home.
