2015 Past President's Ruth Shoebridge Day

Gosford Club President Judy Crawford welcomed Past President's President Floss Irvine and handed proceedings over to PP Pres. Floss who in turn welcomed all Past Presidents and their guests to the Ruth Shoebridge Day. After morning tea 20 teams took to the greens to contest the Shield which was donated back in 1996 by the husband of Ruth Shoebridge who was a member of Gosford City BC and also a member of the Past President's Association.
It was a very hot, humid day and the ladies played until about midday then the bell was rung for them to come in. A lovely luncheon prepared by the Gosford Ladies was most welcome and by all the chatter everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The winners of the Shield were a team from Breakers [Wamberal]: Lesley Mason, Barbara Hilliard, Kim Trethewey and Gaye Bryant. Runners up: Marian Walsh, Norma McRae, Margaret Evans and Wendy Heath from The Entrance. The Breakers club will now keep the Shield at their club for the next 12 months.
Lucky Door prize winners were: Joan Murphy [Umina Beach] and Heather Riley [Avoca Beach].
Main Spider winners were: Susan Staples [Breakers] and Sandy Dowse [Davistown RSL]
There were also some happy Tombola winners.
PP Pres. Floss thanked Gosford for their hospitality and thanked all who attended. The next event will be Charity Day on Monday 13th July at Terrigal B.C.
