2016 OPEN and SENIOR PAIRS
The 2016 Open and Senior Pairs were played throughout the week commencing 8th February at various venues throughout the District culminating with the Semi-Finals and Finals at Halekulani on Thursday 11th.
Open Fours. 45 Teams entered. There were certainly some very close games throughout the week with great bowls being witnessed.
Semi-finals:
Lauren Williams, Tracy Osborne [Ettalong Mem] def
Yvonne Bartlett, June Kilgallon [Avoca Beach]
Kerry Malligan, Connie Goddard [Gwandalan] def
Leanne Chenoweth, Margaret Smith [Avoca Beach]
Final:
What a great game with tremendous bowls being played by both teams. The end result was Lauren and Tracy def. Kerry and Connie. Congratulations to all the players.
Senior Fours. 47 teams entered this new event introduced by WBNSW. To be eligible players had to 60+ at the close of entries. The conditions were 3 bowls each, the lead playing 3 then the skip played her 3 bowls. No dead ends the jack was re-spotted on the 'T'. This format has proven to be very popular with those who participated.

Final:
Again some great bowls were played by these ladies which the spectators enjoyed with Joyce and Barbara winning over Penny and Judy. Congratulations to both these teams.
District President Dianne congratulated all the players and presented the winners with their badges. Thanks to Halekulani for hosting the final and to all clubs who offered their greens throughout the week.
