The 2017 Open and Senior Pairs were held from 14th to 17th February commencing at Halekulani, Wyong and Woy Woy on the Tuesday.   Thursday saw the Open Pairs continue at Davistown RSL and the Seniors at Bateau Bay.    The winners from there progressed to the Semi-finals on Friday 17th at Terrigal.    Our thanks to all clubs for there hospitality.   Throughout the first couple of days we saw some great matches and this continued on to the final day with the Semi's in the morning and the Final in the afternoon.

Semi-Finals:

Lorraine Murphy, Tess Koutsellis [Terrigal] defeated Sarah McKay, Karen Jones [Bateau Bay]

Leanne Chenoweth, Margaret Smith [Avoca Bch] defeated Cynthia Cameron, Sue Manning [Wyong]

Final:

What an exciting game this was.   The scores were level many times and after 18 ends it was all tied at 11 apiece thus forcing the playing of an extra end to determine the winner.  What excitement for the crowd and a 'nail biting' time for the players.    The result:

Leanne Chenoweth and Margaret Smith 12 shots    Lorraine Murphy  Tess Koutsellis  11 shots.

Congratulations to all players.

Semi-Finals:

Ariane Dixon,  Jean Paviour-Smith [Davistown RSL]  defeated  Doris Kirk, Helen Stevenson [Munmorah Utd]

Joyce Pirie, Carol McCleer [Wyong] defeated Jan Epton, Lorraine Park [Ettalong Mem.]

Again, we had a very exciting final with the score very close.   What great bowls were played by these ladies.

The results:

Congratulations to all players.
