2017 CHALLENGE CUP

The 2017 Challenge Cup was held at Halekulani Bowling Club with the host club being Norah Head (last years winners). Halekulani offered their greens for use as Norah Head only have the one green. Our thanks to them for this. Norah Head President Vivien Poulson welcomed District President Dianne, committee and players. District President Dianne in turn welcomed the 20 clubs who entered this year.

The Challenge Cup was donated in 1997 by Past President of the District, Thelma Hutchison. The eligibility was for players to be club selected from Grade 4 or lower, or players of equivalent level. This has continued to this day. Two games were played, one of 13 ends and one of 12 ends.

The players had a lovely day weatherwise and all enjoyed the day.

Winners: 2 Wins 16 ends 18

Davistown RSL: Debra Lewin, Jenny Cooke, Rosemary Cartmill, Kerry Hutchison

Runners up: 2 Wins 16 ends 14

Ettalong Memorial: Marie Andrews, Karen Brander, Rhonda Keenan, Lorraine Park

The host club, Norah Head, last years winners tried hard to make it two in a row, coming in third.
