2013 GRADE 4 FLAG UNFURLING
The Grade 4 Flag Unfurling was held at Woy Woy Bowling Club on Thursday 9th May 2013. The last time Woy Woy won a flag was in 1990. The excited players and members were joined by District President Pat Frewin, District Secretary Di Elsom and Region 6 Representative Lesley Swales. Also present for morning tea and the unfurling were Woy Woy Club Chairman Geoff McMahon, Secretary Manager Ben King and Mens Club President Jim Cassidy. Woy Woy President Barbara Champion welcomed all.
After morning tea members formed a guard of honour on the green and the players marched out to the tune of 'we are the champions'. The weather was perfect and after congratulating the players District President Pat unfurled the Grade 4 flag. The players were then presented with their badges, certificates and photos[taken on the day they won the flag]. The runners up, Halekulani, were unable to attend the day.
All the ladies then enjoyed a game of bowls before adjourning inside for lunch. The Woy Woy ladies had combined this special day with their Mothers Day event. All present received a gift. A lovely day was had by all.
