The 2013 District Pairs were held from 11th to 15th February. 87 teams contested this event. The weather was not kind with the ladies playing in and out of rain on Monday at Everglades, Ettalong and The Entrance. Unfortunately the 3 afternoon games at The Entrance were washed out with about 8 ends to go. These matches had to be completed at Wyong on the Tuesday and then the winners went straight into the next round. Again rain made it uncomfortable for the players at both Wyong and Munmorah United but all games were completed. It was then off to Halekulani on Thursday 14th for the Quarter and Semi-finals. A shower early on luckily was the only rain seen and it came out hot and steamy for the players. What great bowls were played all round. There was only one or two shots the difference in some cases.

Semi Finals:
R. Finch def. D.Windshuttel, M.Smith def. T. Ward
The final was at Gosford City on Friday 15th. The players no sooner got on the green with only a couple of ends completed when rain stopped play for 10 minutes. Then back out they went only to finish another couple of ends when again the heavens opened. After a rain delay of about 20 minutes play recommenced and luckily the rain held off. What a great final we all witnessed. It was close all the way until Judy and Margaret edged ahead over the last few ends. Congratulations to all players.

Runners up: June Shipley[sub for Arleen Jackson], Rosemary Finch [Bateau Bay]. Arleen unfortunately had a car accident on her way home from Halekulani on Thursday afternoon and due to her injuries was unable to play. We hope she makes a quick recovery and wish her all the best.
