On Friday 29th June 40 players, committee and supporters traveled to Glenbrook Bowling Club to contest the Nepean Trophy. This event is held annually between Central Coast and Nepean Districts with venues alternating between districts. This year it was Nepean's turn to host the event.

We arrived at Glenbrook at 9.15 a.m. even though we had been delayed by half an hour getting away. The traffic was kind to us. We were warmly welcomed by the Nepean District and after a lovely morning tea provided by the host club it was on to the greens to do 'battle' all in a friendly manner of course.

21 ends were to be played. Some of the 10 rinks managed this but time got the better of the rest and the match had to be halted at 1.10pm as luncheon was ready. Most had done 20 ends with a few only completing 18.

Luncheon was then served, the raffles drawn, prizes were given to lucky winners and losers who were picked out at random and then it was time to reveal the winners.

Congratulations to Nepean District who won by a mere 8 shots overall, 195 to 187. Central Coast President Lesley presented the trophy to Nepean President Nancy noting that the last time Nepean had won was in 2008.

A most enjoyable day was had by all and as usual the match was played in friendship by all the players. Our thanks to the Nepean District and Glenbrook ladies for their hospitality.

We look forward to next year when Central Coast will host this event.
