The Annual Rose Bowl event played between Newcastle and Central Coast Districts was played on Friday 11th November at Wyong Bowling Club. We welcomed President Marj and her ladies from Newcastle District and after a lovely morning tea it was on to the green.

28 selected players from each District in teams of 4 played off for the Rose Bowl over 21 ends each. The winner to be determined by the District with the most aggregate shots.

We could not asked for a nicer day weatherwise to hold this event. There was a gentle breeze blowing with clear blue skies and a moderate temperature. Newcastle got away to a good start however Central Coast started to catch up only to have Newcastle surge ahead. Our players tried valiantly to catch up again but were outplayed overall on the day. Congratulations must go to all the players from both Districts for a great display of bowls and for the friendly way the match was played. The final result was Newcastle 150 shots; Central Coast 120 shots.

We welcomed State President Patricia Reynolds [who is from our District] for lunch. It was lovely that Patricia took the time to join us.

Our thanks to President Barbara and her ladies from Wyong for their hospitality. As always we were well looked after.

We look forward to next year when we travel to Newcastle District to again contest this event.
