2011 C v D Group
2011 C v D Group Match
C Group consists of Nepean and Western Districts represented by 16 players from each of these Districts.
D Group consists of Central Coast who had 8 players, Lake Macquarie 8 players, Newcastle 8 players, Hunter River 6 players and Upper Hunter 2 players.
This makes a total of 32 players from each group who keenly contest this event.
On Sunday evening the 11th September, a welcome dinner was held with a concert following, showing some of the local talent. A fun filled evening was had by all who attended.
Past and Present C & D Group reps were in attendance and it was lovely to see them there. Attending were Norma Clark, Mary Towns, Dulcie Tonkin, Beryl Brown,Wendy Heath, Norma Aussell and current rep. Pat Frewin.
Monday 12th all were welcomed at the Official morning tea and then it was on to the green for the March On. Accompanied by John on bagpipes and Dick on drums the players marched on to the green. C & D Group rep. Pat Frewin then opened the match by rolling the first bowl.
Two games of 18 ends were played on Monday and one game of 18 ends was played on Tuesday morning. It was tough going for some of the players as both greens are synthetic and under cover and it took a bit of getting used to. However they all settled down well and some great bowling was witnessed.
The end result was a win for D Group with 486 shots overall to C Group's 312. Congratulations to all players who took part.
