2013 REGION 6 PENNANT FINALS

The Region 6 Pennant finals were played at Ettalong Bowling Club on Tuesday 11th June. Regional Representative Lesley Swales opened the proceedings after being welcomed by Vice President Marie from Ettalong.   She in turn welcomed Central Coast President Pat Frewin and Lake Macquarie President Fay Currie and their members A warm welcome was also extended to the players from Terrigal, Bateau Bay, Ettalong Memorial, Woy Woy, Windale Gateshead, Kahibah, Charlestown and Dora Creek Workers.  

After morning tea Chairpersons of Match Pattie Payne from Central Coast and Pam Field from Lake Macquarie called the cards and it was on to the greens to do ‘battle’. We had a glorious day weather wise and we saw some great bowling. It was great to see the huge crowd supporting their respective sides.

The results were:

Grade 1: Terrigal [1] Central Coast defeated Windale Gateshead Lake Macquarie

Grade 2: Bateau Bay [1] Central Coast defeated Kahibah [2] Lake Macquarie

Grade 3: Ettalong Memorial Central Coast defeated Charlestown Lake Macquarie

Grade 4: Dora Creek Workers Lake Macquarie defeated Woy Woy Central Coast

Congratulations to all the players. Well done.

The winners now go on to the State Playoffs to be held from 12th August in the Port Stephens area. Grade 1 commence 12th at Nelson Bay BC; G2 commence 13th at Soldiers Point BC; G3 commence 13th at Fingal Bay/Nelson Bay BC’s and G4 commence 13th at Raymond Terrace. We wish all good bowling and it would be great to bring back a State flag to their respective clubs..
