The District Triples commenced Monday June 20 with games played at Terrigal and Halekulani Bowling Clubs. The weather was ideal and all games were completed. On Tuesday the venues were The Entrance and Ettalong. The day started out great weather wise but play had to be abandoned for the day at Ettalong half way through the afternoon game. The Entrance managed to get their games in. The incomplete games were finished on the Wednesday morning. Thursday saw the Quarter finals in the morning and semi finals in the afternoon at Wyong. It was perfect weather and the games played showed some excellent bowling.
Quarter finals:
P. Robson[Munmorah Utd] defeated B. Jansen[Wyong]
G. Hardwick[Terrigal] defeated J. Hiron[The Entrance]
P. Donnelly[Ettalong Mem.] defeated E.Leo[Halekulani]
M.Kerr[Ettalong Mem.] defeated J.Bambury[Bateau Bay]
Semi finals:
P. Robson defeated G.Hardwick
M. Kerr defeated P. Donnelly
Final:
This was played on the Friday morning at Avoca Beach. Again the weather was glorious and what a great display of bowling ensued. Pam's team made an early break but Maureen's team soon caught up and it was neck and neck all the way to the finish. The match really being decided by the final bowl on the 21st end. Congratulations to all six players.
