2011 Grade 2 Pennant Side Winners Bateau Bay

After a few postponed days Bateau Bay finally had their Grade 2 Pennant Flag unfurled on Thursday 14th July. Immediate Past President Jan Scott welcomed District President Lesley Swales and Match representative Pattie Payne, the players, Patricia Reynolds representing runners up Halekulani and members. New President of Bateau Bay Liz Cohen was 'given the day off' as she was part of the winning side.

After morning tea of scones, jam and cream it was on to the green for the official part of the day. The players were welcomed on to the green by loud applause from all the members. After congratulating the players President Lesley gave the signal and the flag was unfurled. Each player was then given their pennant badge and certificates. Unfortunately Val Cleary was not able to attend. Patricia Reynolds was presented with her runners up certificate and also given certificates for the rest of the Halekulani side who could not attend. President Lesley then asked Jan Scott to join the players as Jan had played with them during the D Group playoffs[Val Cleary was unable to play due to illness] and Jan will be accompanying them to Dubbo. President Lesley again congratulated them on their win and gave them certificates for their D Group win and wished them well in Dubbo. It was then on for a fun day of bowls followed by a lovely lunch and much celebrating by the players.
