2012 CHALLENGE CUP
The 2012 Challenge Cup was held at Terrigal Bowling Club on Monday 17th September. 22 teams contested this annual event which is open to all clubs in the District. Criteria is that the players must be club selected and Grade 4 or equivalent bowlers.
Vice President Di from Terrigal welcomed District President Pat, committees and players. After morning tea it was on to the greens for 2 games, one of 13 ends and one of 12, playing different opponents each game.
The weather was overcast and windy which made the greens a bit tricky at times. However all enjoyed the challenge.
The results were:
Winners: Everglades with 2 wins, 17 ends and 31 shots
Roslyn Sinnott, Colleen Vrolyks, Sharyn Teasdale, Janice Jones
Runners up: Munmorah United with 2 wins, 16 ends and 24 shots
Elaine Spek, Pamela Roberts, Jennifer Del-cet, Valerie Anthoney
Congratulations to these ladies.
District President Pat presented the winners with the perpetual trophy donated originally by Thelma Hutchinson, and the club and each player received their own trophies to keep.
Thanks to Terrigal for hosting this event, next year Everglades, as the winners, will be the host venue.
