2011 Pairs
DISTRICT PAIRS 2011
The State Pairs at District level commenced on Monday 21st February 2011. Unfortunately the weather was not kind with rain causing play to be abandoned at Avoca Beach but luckily the other venues, Umina Beach and Halekulani were able to complete their scheduled rounds for the day. Matches then had to be rescheduled at various clubs on Tuesday and Wednesday and eventually the draw caught up so that the Quarter and Semi finals went ahead at The Entrance Bowling Club on Thursday 24th as planned.
Quarter Finals:

L.Cross,A.Tucker [Everglades] defeated W.Brennan,A.Simpson [Terrigal]
S.Gemmell,P.Thornton [The Entrance] defeated V.Jewell,C.McArdle[Terrigal]
L.Williams,T.Ward [Ettalong Mem.] defeated L.Barter,A.Schofield [The Entrance]
Semi-Finals:
P.Murphy,A.Koutsellis [Terrigal] defeated L.Cross,A.Tucker [Everglades]
L.Williams,T.Ward[Ettalong Mem.] defeated S.Gemmell,P.Thornton [The Entrance]
The Final was played in lovely weather and in good spirits at Gosford City Bowling Club on Friday 25th. We certainly saw some great bowling from all players and congratulations to them all. Tracey Ward’s team were the eventual winners 27 to 10 however the score does not depict the closeness of each end.
Lauren Williams and Tracey Ward were runners up in 2010 and were very focused from the beginning of this event, determined to be te 2011 winners. Well done.
Lorraine Murphy and Tess Koutsellis played lovely bowls but were just outplayed on the day. Well done to them for reaching the final.
