2013 Veterans' Days for the over 70s
Our 2013 District Veterans' Days were held on 26 August at Woy Woy, 30 August at Wyong and 2 September at Wamberal.
Woy Woy President Dianne Elsom welcomed District Vice President Beryl Gibbons and committees as well as the veterans from Davistown RSL, Ettalong, Everglades, Umina Beach and Woy Woy.
Wyong President Judy Henderson welcomed District President Pat Frewin and committees. Attending were veterans from Diggers @ the Entrance, Gwandalan, Halekulani, Munmorah Utd, Norah Head, The Entrance, Toukley Memorial, Wyong and Wyong RSL
Wamberal President Denise Gosling welcomed District President Pat Frewin, committees and veterans from Avoca Beach, Bateau Bay, Golden Hind, Gosford City, Mingara, Ourimbah-Lisarow, Terrigal and Wamberal.
Over the 3 venues a total of 38 Super and Star Super Veterans were presented with badges. At each venue our veterans were treated to a special morning tea and game of bowls followed by a hot lunch and prizes. They also enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making new ones, and many momento photos were taken to remember the day. A sea of happy smiling faces greeted us at each venue and you can see all of them in the photo gallery. It was a pleasure and privilege for our district to celebrate with our 'veteran' ladies many years of happy bowling.
