2015 HETHERINGTON TROPHY

The 2015 Hetherington Trophy was played at The Entrance on Monday 20th July.   Eight selected players from each club played in teams of 4.   The day started off with rain but luckily by the time morning tea was over it had stopped and the teams got out on time.      Two games were played.   The morning game was 16 ends and the afternoon game was to the bell, the cut off end being the 14th.     There were some great bowls played and all seemed to enjoy themselves.

The Hetherington Trophy was introduced back in 1948 by Mrs. Edith Hetherington, a member of The Entrance WBC, in memory of her late husband John.   It has been played every year except 1988 and 1998 when rain prevented play.    The conditions have remained the same since the beginning, only the number of ends played has been altered over the years.

There were only 2 clubs who won all 4 games.     The results are:

Winners:       Breakers - [Wamberal]  with 4 wins, 44 ends and 87 shots.

Sue Staples,Barbara Hilliard,Judy Cameron,Carol Allis

Margaret Hickman,Julie Cox,Kim Trethewy,Sally Murphy

Runners up:   Wyong  with 4 wins, 36 ends and 62 shots.

Julie Coulson,Sue Robb,Laurel Andrews,Judy Wheatley

Congratulations to these ladies and to all who participated.
