2015 Veterans Day at Everglades
On Monday 31st August the second of the Districts Veterans Days was held at Everglades Bowling Club. Everglades President Sue welcomed District President Di who in turn welcomed all the ladies and wished them a happy day.
After morning tea the ladies had a lovely game of bowls. The weather was fine with a cool breeze but this did not deter any of them. They then had an very nice lunch after which the formalities of the day proceeded.
President Di was delighted to present Super Veteran Badges [for those ladies who had attained 80 years young] to the following:
Beryl Gurney; Isabel Boughton; Hazel Brown; Verna Morris all from Davistown RSL and Marj Ransome from Umina Beach.
They also received a lovely fruit tray.
The most senior Veteran present was Iris Bates from Everglades and the youngest Veteran was Maggie Cross from Davistown RSL. They received a lovely gift.
Congratulations to these ladies and a very pleasant day enjoyed by all.
