2015 Veterans Day at Gosford City
On Monday 7th September the last of the District's Veterans Days was held at Gosford City Bowling Club. Club President Vera welcomed all to the day and handed proceedings over to District Vice President Sue O'Connor. Sue was standing in for District President Di Elsom who was not well.
After morning tea it was on to the green. The weather was sunny and a game of bowls was enjoyed. Then all came in for a lovely luncheon prepared by the Gosford ladies who had decorated the tables beautifully which I am sure, all appreciated, as it made for a great atmosphere.
It was then on to the official part of the day. The following ladies were the recipients of their Star Super [90 years young] and Super [80 years] Veterans Badges.
Star Super Veterans:
June Littlefield - Ourimbah Lisarow
Margaret [Peggy] Knott - Terrigal
Super Veterans:
Gina Marston - Avoca Beach
Denise Proust - Breakers
Jill King - Breakers
Barbara Wilson - Golden Hind
Elaine Grills - Golden Hind [Elaine unfortunately had a fall during the day, her badge was given to her before she left for medical attention]
Anne Cleaton - Mingara
Hazel Tipper - Mingara
Congratulations to all these Veterans.
Most Senior Veteran present on the day was Irene McIntyre from Mingara and the Youngest Veteran was Jean Cook from Terrigal.
