2016 MIXED PAIRS

2016 saw the introduction of a Mixed Pairs Event by the Central Coast District. This event was introduced as part of the WBNSW programme last year but our District did not run the event in 2015. However all Districts had to implement the Mixed Pairs this year.
Wyong was the host venue. 32 teams entered. Players did not have to belong to the same club and the skip could be either of the players. The first day of play was Sunday 7th August. Teams were divided into sections of 4. Each team in the section played each other once [total of 3 matches], which consisted of 2 sets of 5 ends and if necessary a 1 end tie breaker. It certainly meant that players had to be into their game from the word go.
The winners of each section then played off in the quarter finals on the following Sunday 14th August, playing 2 sets of 5 ends and if necessary 1 end tie breaker.

Final:
The Wyong pair of Cynthia and Kevin defeated the Avoca Beach pair of Denyse and Terry.
Congratulations of all who took part and well done to the winners. They will now go the the Region 6 playoffs against Lake Macquarie on Sunday 28th August at Charlestown Bowling Club. This match will commence at 11.00 a.m.
