2016 VETERANS DAYS

 

 Veterans' Day at Terrigal

 

 

Monday 22nd August was the first of the District's Veterans' Days.   The venue was Terrigal Bowling Club.    District President Dianne welcomed Veterans from Avoca Beach, Bateau Bay, Breakers, Golden Hind, Gosford, Mingara, Ourimbah.  

After morning tea the ladies went out to bowl and then enjoyed a lovely lunch.   This year WBNSW introduced new badges,  Veterans;  Super Veterans and Star Veterans.   12 ladies received their Veterans Badge;  18 received their Super Veterans Badge and 8 received their Star Veterans Badge.    A lucky draw was then done for 20 lucky recipients who also received a fruit tray.      It was a lovely day enjoyed by all.   Thanks to Terrigal for hosting this day.

 

Veterans' Day at Umina.

The second of the District's Veterans' Days was held at Umina Beach on Monday 5th September.  District President Dianne welcomed Veterans from Davistown RSL, Ettalong, Everglades, Umina Beach and Woy Woy.   

It was a beautiful sunny spring day and the ladies enjoyed a friendly game of bowls and then had a lovely lunch.    8 ladies received their Veterans Badge;  15 received their Super Veterans Badge and 2 received Star Veterans Badges.   Again a lucky draw was done for 20 lucky recipients who also received a fruit tray.   Winners and Runners up prizes, drawn at random, were also given.     Everyone had a great day and the chatter continued even after the day officially closed.      Thanks to Umina Beach for hosting this day.

 

Veterans' Day at Halekulani

The third and final Veterans' Day was held at Halekulani on Monday 12th September. District President Dianne welcomed veterans from Diggers at the Entrance, Gwandalan, Halekulani, Munmorah Utd, Norah Head, The Entrance, Wyong and Wyong RSL.

We were again blessed with a glorious spring day and the ladies certainly enjoyed their game of bowls and a lovely lunch.    Prizes were drawn randomly for winners and runners up.  

It was then time to present the Veteran, Super Veteran and Star Veteran badges.   There were 68 recipients,    22 Veterans,  40 Super Veterans and 6 Star Veterans.   Congratulations to all these ladies.      20 lucky ladies also received a fruit tray drawn at random.   

Another happy day came to an end.    Thank you to Halekulani for hosting this day.
