2018 LAKES TROPHY

The 2018 Lakes Trophy was played at Bateau Bay Bowling Club on Friday 21st September. This event is played annually between Central Coast and Lake Macquarie Districts, the venue being alternated each year between the two Districts.

District President Jenny welcomed Lake Macquarie President Jan and her players as well as welcoming our Central Coast representatives.     28 players are selected from each District to contest this event.

After morning tea it was on to the green to commence the friendly competition.    Each team plays 18 ends.  There are no dead ends, the jack gets respotted on the 'T'.  The winning District is determined by the total aggregate scores.    The greens were running quite fast and Lake Macquarie players got off to a good start with a strong lead on the Master Board. However Central Coast managed to pull this lead back and towards the end there were only a few shots difference.    At the completion of the match Central Coast won with 114 shots to Lake Macquaries 112.   What a close result.   Congratulations to all players.

Central Coast had not won this event since 2012 so all were very excited and happy, especially our new District President Jenny.

We look forward to travelling to Lake Macquarie District next year to renew friendships and defend the Trophy.
